Football sees Coral back in Oddschecker top 10
The new English football season has seen Coral win back its place among the top 10 bookmakers on leading odds comparison website Oddschecker, EGRmagazine.com can reveal exclusively
CORAL HAS won back its place among the top 10 bookmakers on leading odds comparison website Oddschecker, EGRmagazine.com can reveal exclusively.
The August figures from the site, which boasts more than 600,000 unique users a month, show Coral re-entering the group in seventh place due to the start of the football season, after falling out completely in July during the professional game’s summer closed period.
Coral’s rise was at the expense of Victor Chandler, which was pushed out of the group after winning a ninth place position in the July Oddschecker top 10, and at the expense of Sky Bet, which was pushed from seventh into eight place despite managing to increase its share of total traffic from 4.6% to 4.8%.
Oddschecker marketing manager Caitlin Hanks said: “The start of the football season in early August saw bookmakers with a strong football offering increase their market share, and the operator to benefit most from this was Coral. Coral’s strong football performance saw it take an extra 1.2% in market share and then jump from 13th to 7th place in the Oddschecker rankings from July to August. Bet365 also benefited, gaining an extra 0.7%.”
The top tier of the Oddschecker group remained unchanged, with Betfair, Bet365 and William Hill retaining their first, second and third places respectively. The top 10 can be read below.
As reported on EGRmagazine.com, Coral signed deal with FSB Technology last month to expand its football betting offering with the launch an analytical tool allowing bets on player performance.
Other operators in the Oddschecker list have also sought to increase their share of the UK’s football betting market, with official betting partner ties signed between Oddschecker top bookmaker Betfair and Manchester United and between ninth-placed Sportingbet and Portsmouth football club.
Additional football deals last month included official betting partner ties between Asian sportsbook 188Bet and Chelsea FC and Bodog Europe and Fulham FC; while Bwin secured the broadcast rights for the Primera and Segunda Divisións, Spanish football’s two top leagues; and William Hill signed a three-year sponsorship deal with Primera Liga team Malaga CF, the nearest team to the British community on the Costa del Sol.
Arsenal FC also signed a deal with Bettorlogic to feature its Player Pro tool, a similar product to the FSB Technology offering taken on by Coral, on the Arsenal FC homepage.
