Swedish mobile gaming supplier Mobenga has hired the head of mobile at Swedish state lottery giant Svenska Spel.
SWEDISH MOBILE GAMING supplier Mobenga has hired Svenska Spel’s head of mobile.
Fredrik Lagerman joins Mobenga as its new director of customer relations and marketing, after more than five years at the Swedish state lottery, where he was responsible for sales, marketing and business development and played an active role in the development of the company’s online platform, SvenskaSpel.se.
Lagerman said: “The years at Svenska Spel have been a very exciting trial-and-error period with an extensive amount of technical developments, marketing and event campaigns, media and operator partnerships and a significant change in mobile behaviour. I’m very excited to join Mobenga, who I’ve of course had a keen eye on for some time now, and look forward to contributing my hands-on experience.”
Based in Stockholm, Lagernman’s chief responsibility will be for the development of Mobenga’s existing customers and partnerships.
Mobenga chief executive Christian Rajter said: “Fredrik’s background as the commercial driver at one of the earliest mobile ventures from one of the world’s biggest gaming companies will be an excellent addition to Mobenga, and [provide] a great sounding board and partner to our customers.”
As reported exclusively on EGRmagazine.com, Mobenga launched in Australia this month via a contract to provide mobile gaming to Tote Tasmania and last week unveiled a deal to supply Paddy Power with a new mobile sportsbook. It this year also launched iPhone versions of Nordicbet’s and Unibet’s sportsbooks and partnered with software provider Orbis to offer its mobile services to Orbis customers.
Svenska Spel fell 17 places in this year’s Power 50 leading operators due to increasing pressure from private operators.
In other recent mobile news, Betfair hired Mfuse founder Charlie Palmer as its new head of mobile last month.
