Exclusive: GTECH G2 vice-president Scott steps down
William Scott departs after 18 years as the company moves forward with corporate restructure
GTECH G2 vice-president William Scott has left the software provider after 18 years, eGaming Review can exclusively reveal.
Scott, who joined GTECH Corporation in 1995, stepped down from his post on 15 June. The lottery and egaming supplier declined to comment on the news and has yet to announce a replacement.
eGR understands Scott’s departure is the result of a broader company restructuring plan as it moved to streamline it commercial operations and increase its focus to the US online market. This saw Scott’s responsibilities substantially reduced, from a global-facing role to one limited to a handful of European jurisdictions.
During his time at GTECH G2, Scott was responsible for the launch of North America’s first legal poker network, the Canadian Poker Network, which contains the online poker networks of Loto-Quebec and the British Columbia Lottery Corporation.
He was also instrumental in the acquisitions of the companies which created GTECH’s online business, G2, including Finsoft in 2007 and St Minver parent company St Enodoc in 2008.
The company also provides software for the International Poker Network “ whose skins include bet-at-home and Mermaid Poker- and an Italian-facing network containing the Lottomatica and Totosi poker brands.
Egaming software business GTECH G2 was rebranded to Spielo G2 in December 2012 following a merger with the gaming machines division of parent company Lottomatica corporation the previous year. Lottomatica was itself rebranded as GTECH S.p.A earlier this month after the change was approved by shareholders.
During Scott’s 18 years at the company, GTECH G2 have won numerous industry awards including lottery software provider of the year at this year’s eGaming Review B2B awards. The company picked up the same prize the previous year along with the bingo supplier of the year award.
