Exclusive: Former Betway heads launch esports media company
Adam Savinson and Tim Whyles unveil Zealium Media with potential plans for new affiliate division
Former Betway stalwarts Adam Savinson and Tim Whyles are set to launch a new esports-focused media business, EGR can exclusively reveal. The new venture, Zealium Media, will unveil a series of esports content websites with a specific focus around ad sales to drive revenue. EGR understands Zealium Media is also exploring potential affiliate partnerships with esports betting operators following its launch, with opportunities for integrations in specific parts of its sites. Zealium currently operates two sites, one dedicated to Valorant (The Spike) and another site focused on Battle Grounds Mobile India (BGMI Scores). Savinson departed Betway after almost nine years of service, culminating in his position as esports director. Elsewhere, Whyles stepped away after two decades with Betway subsidiary BG Marketing Services. Savinson said: “Esports has been a massive part of my life for the last 15 years, and I couldn’t be more excited to get closer to the detail in the industry that I live and breathe. “At Zealium Media, we are hitting the ground running and I can’t wait to announce the first projects in our pipeline and start giving back to the esports community,” he added. Whyles commented: “The opportunity that we see in the esports media space is unprecedented and having spent the past 20 years marketing in the highly competitive online gambling industry, I see huge scope to disrupt and outgrow many of the incumbent esports publishers.”
