Exclusive: 888 kicks off search for new head of sport
Incumbent Yuval Benyamini to leave the business after 12 years to pursue new opportunities outside the betting industry
888 has commenced the search for a new head of its sports division following the departure of 888Sport chief Yuval Benyamini, EGR can reveal.
Benyamini leaves after six years in the role and 12 years at 888 to pursue new opportunities outside the industry.
Benyamini said in a statement provided to EGR: “I look forward to watching 888Sport build on its success and go from strength to strength following the BetBright acquisition.
“888 has been an excellent place to work and I have learnt a huge amount from our highly skilled and dedicated team and it has very much been a thrilling journey.”
Under Benyamini 888Sport grew from less than $10m in annual revenues to a run rate of $100m.
888 has now commenced a search for his replacement to be based in London or Dublin.
Itai Pazner, CEO of 888, said: “Yuval has played an important role in developing 888Sport into the success it is today. On behalf of my colleagues, I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for all his hard work.
“There is a significant opportunity in the sports market and following the acquisition of BetBright’s technology and team, and 888 is strongly positioned to accelerate its growth in this market, particularly with the US opening up.”
888 is expected to launch its first BetBright-powered sportsbook product in Sweden in H1 2020.
The company recently overhauled the front-end of the sportsbook product, marking the first time the operator has moved off the ‘out-the-box’ Kambi solution.
