Enlabs appoints new CEO as former Catena Media chief Andersson steps down
Stockholm-listed operator targets continued development as COO steps up into senior role
Nordic-focused operator Enlabs has confirmed the departure of Robert Andersson as its president and CEO after less than two years in the role.
Andersson will be replaced by Enlabs’ current COO George Ustinov who has been with the company since August 2017, having previously served as CFO for the group.
Enlabs has confirmed that Andersson will step down with immediate effect, but the Nasdaq First North-listed firm has said it intends to elect Andersson to the Enlabs board at the company’s AGM.
Ustinov joined Enlabs in a CFO capacity from Creamfinance, where he served as group head of financial planning and control. Prior to this, Ustinov has held roles with international financial firm EY and Swedish-based banking firm Swedbank.
Enlabs chairman Niklas Braathen paid tribute to Ustinov saying the firm’s board of directors were very pleased that he would be leading the company going forward.
“George has during his time in the Group demonstrated the ability to quickly make and implement decisions, has solid knowledge of the Eastern European gaming markets, and possesses the leadership skills that Enlabs continues to develop,” Braathen added.
Former Catena Media CEO Andersson joined Enlabs in April 2018 and has served as founding partner and chairman of the board at his own company ISBIT Games from September 2014 to April 2019.
Braathen hailed the role that Andersson had played in guiding the company through a difficult period in which a lot of work had been undertaken, adding this had yielded “very successful results” for the firm.
“This has gone according to plan and we have had a mutual dialogue with Robert on how he can progress and help the company’s continued development. All together, we believe that this is the best solution for the company,” Braathen added.
The firm, which was formerly known as Nordic Leisure, runs the OptiBet sportsbook and casino as well as several affiliate sites including BestBet.
