EGR operator awards 2012 shortlist revealed
Paddy Power, William Hill, Gamesys and Betfair share 34 nominations.
Paddy Power has claimed the most nominations at the shortlist stage of this year’s forthcoming eGaming Review Operator Awards to be held on Monday 26 November at the Roundhouse in Camden, London.
The Irish operator has been shortlisted in 12 categories including sports betting, in-play and bingo operator of the year as well as two nominations respectively in the mobile and marketing categories and a 12th shortlisting for its social sports, and now also real-money site, Betdash.

William Hill Online has the second most nominations (eight) while Gamesys, principally for Jackpotjoy, and Betfair, are tied for third place with seven nominations respectively. 888 and SkyBet have been shortlisted for five awards each alongside last year’s Rising Star winner mFortune. The mobile casino operator has had a great year and is a candidate to debut in this year’s annual Power 50 list of the industry’s top operators published at the end of this month in the forthcoming issue of eGR .
French poker operator Winamax, that has managed to force its way into number one spot ahead of PokerStars in its home territory as well as expand into mobile, has four nominations alongside social operator Akamon Entertainment which makes its awards debut in 2012.
Bet365, bwin.party Digital Entertainmwent, Mr Green, Which Bingo and Betting Expert have each been nominated three times.
This year’s operator of the year category will be fought out between 888, bet365, SkyBet and last year’s winner William Hill Online.
This year’s ceremony includes a number of new social gaming categories including social bingo, casino, social marketing campaign and social operator of the year with Gamesys (Jackpotjoy), Akamon Entertainment, diwip and Plumbee battling it out for the first gong of its kind.
