Denmark grants licence renewal to LeoVegas for online casino and sports betting
Five-year extension will see the Stockholm-listed operator provide its services in Nordic nation until at least 2026
The Danish Gambling Authority (Spillemyndigheden) has granted LeoVegas two renewed licences to operate in Denmark.
The Malta-based operator, which offers online casino and sports betting in Denmark, has built up a significant presence in the Danish market since 2016 when if was first granted a licence.
The renewed five-year certification will allow LeoVegas to continue offering those verticals to consumers in Denmark until 2026.
“Our Danish launch was one of our most successful, and the fact that we are now one of the largest operators in this market is testament to that,” said LeoVegas CEO Gustaf Hagman.
“I am thrilled that LeoVegas can continue to offer our customers in Denmark the greatest gaming experience, as a responsible and sustainable operator,” he added.
LeoVegas also holds a licence in regulated markets including Sweden, Italy, Spain, Schleswig-Holstein in Germany, Ireland, Malta and the UK.
The operator’s Danish NGR decreased in Q2 2021 as overall revenue slumped by 13% year-on-year to €96.8m.
