Danske Spil launches first mobile sportsbook
Former Danish monopoly collaborates with OpenBet and mkodo for HTML5 web app
Danske Spil has launched its first mobile sportsbook following a collaboration with sportsbook provider OpenBet and mobile solutions firm mkodo.
The product, named Oddset, is a HTML5 mobile web application designed by mkodo and will use a sportsbook provided by OpenBet.
Oddset incorporates all odds and markets currently offered by the former Danish monopoly including in-play betting and is the first mobile product on Danske Spilâs long-term roadmap.
The app has been designed and developed in a few months and Mark Gibson, business development director at mkodo, revealed that both performance and customer uptake has already exceeded expectations.
Danske Spil first signed a sports betting platform contract with OpenBet in September 2012 after the operator became one of 38 to receive a Danish gaming licence, and tasked the supplier with modernising its in-house developed sportsbook platform.
