Danish regulator launches new self-exclusion awareness campaign
Authority releases three films showcasing effects of gambling-related harm on players’ families
The Danish Gambling Authority (DGA) has launched a campaign to increase awareness of its “StopSpillet” national self-exclusion helpline with a series of new films about gambling-related harm.
Its new campaign, entitled “Poker Face”, features three 30-second films describing the relationship between three gambling addicts and their family and friends.
The films, which depict a father, mother and a young footballer aim to show that all three are hiding secret problem gambling habits, despite being outwardly positive and happy.

The adverts will feature on national TV, social media and on several Danish streaming services.
StopSpillet, which was launched in January, has received over 700 calls since its inception together with 807 requests for further information on self-exclusion.
In September, DGA director Brigitte Sand hailed the positive numbers of people contacting the line, but added her hope that these numbers would reduce in the future.
Under Danish gambling rules, all licensed operators are required to display links to the service on their respective sites.
In addition to confirming the launch of the new campaign, the DGA has also launched a chat function on its StopSpillet.dk website, enabling at-risk gamblers to speak to problem gambling treatment professionals online.
The DGA has said the campaign will be repeated annually.
