Coral and 188BET strike new betting partnerships
188Bet agrees one year sponsorship of Durham CCC while Coral teams up with Sunderland AFC
Coral and 188BET have joined the growing number of operators signing up sporting partners thanks to new deals with Sunderland AFC and Durham County Cricket Club respectively.
The Coral deal will see the firm establish a retail presence inside the Stadium of Light and offer fans “a comprehensive match day betting service” for every league and cup game throughout the upcoming season.
The partnership will also give Coral a presence on Sunderland AFC’s website and social media channels to support betting activity prior to games.
Coral PR director Simon Clare said: “We are thrilled at Coral to be establishing such a strong UK partnership with Sunderland AFC and we would like to wish everyone connected to the club, especially all its passionate and dedicated supporters, the very best of luck for the season ahead.”
Sunderland supporters will be able to access exclusive Coral promotions and claim their match day winnings in any Coral bookmakers.
Fans will also get the chance to win ‘money can’t buy’ experiences such as visits to the Championship club’s training ground.
Elsewhere, 188BET has struck a one-year deal with Durham County Cricket Club to become the club’s official betting partner.
The Asia-facing firm will see its branding featured at the Emirates Riverside stadium, with the operator also sponsoring the club’s half-time catching contest.
“The new partnership will allow 188BET to reach a growing cricket fan base and we sincerely wish Durham the very best for the rest of this season,” 188BET managing director, Nigel Singer, said.
“188BET is committed to working with Durham to make this partnership a success for both brands.”
Durham CC marketing manager Matt Smith said the deal would offer both sides “the opportunity to share digital activity”.
Several sportsbooks have moved to expand their marketing effort beyond football in recent months with Sky Bet signing a similar three-year deal with the Yorkshire County Cricket Club in June, and firms like LeoVegas and Betsafe partnering with rugby teams.
