ComeOn eyes move into US
CEO Lahcene Merzoug says Cherry’s B2C arm is “looking at the US” following affiliate acquisition of BetNJ.com
Cherry is planning to launch its B2C arm, ComeOn, into the US market, CEO Gunnar Lind said this week.
Speaking to analysts after the firm’s Q3 results, Lind said: “North America and Europe and more regulated markets are coming and we will see quite big synergies in how we are working.
“If we look at the US where Game Lounge already has a licence, we will also see Highlight Games, ComeOn and Yggdrasil do the same.
Affiliate arm Game Lounge moved into North America and LatAm in August through the acquisition of web domains BetNJ.com and OnlineCasino.mx.
Speaking to EGR Intel, ComeOn CEO, Lahcene Merzoug hinted that the operator was still evaluating its strategy for the US.
“The question operators have to ask themselves is if they want to be in the first wave in New Jersey or if they want to wait and evaluate,” Merzoug said.
“There are pros and cons with each and there is a risk if you go in early but they also have a gateway to the other states.
“I can’t really comment on what wave we’re opting to be in. But of course we are looking at it.”
He said the group was trying to find synergies between each business arm with Game Lounge leading the way.
“It could be anything from having the same law firm to just sharing strategies,” he added.
This week, Cherry reported revenues of (SEK 2332m) £199.4m for Q3, up 46%cc on the previous year, with an EBITDA margin of 26%.
