Cherry hires former Spotify and Nasdaq accountant as CFO
Christine Rankin joins as finance chief while firm also hires Carolina Haglund Strömlid as Head of IR
Cherry AB has strengthened its management team ahead of the operator’s Nasdaq listing with hires of former Spotify and Nasdaq finance specialist Christine Rankin as CFO and Carolina Haglund Strömlid as head of investor relations and communications.
Rankin, who was also a certified accountant and partner at PwC until 2014, will take on the duties previously held by Alexander Pettersson, who will remain part of the Group finance team in a yet to be determined role.
Pettersson had stepped into CFO breach as cover for Fredrik Burvall, who moved to the CEO position in 2015, although Burvall left Cherry at the start of this year and has since been succeeded by Anders Holmgren.
Meanwhile, new IR chief Strömlid was previously head of IR at TV and internet provider Com Hem and senior advisor for IR & PR at communications advisory company Intellecta Corporate.
As part of the hires, Cherry has restructured its management team, which now consists of; chief exec Holmgren, Rankin (CFO), Strömlid (Head of IR) and business development and partnership officer, Morten Klein.
“I am looking forward to working together with Christine and Carolina,” Holmgren said of the two new additions.
“Together we will continue to develop Cherry as a fast-growing company, as well as managing the strong positions Cherry holds across all of its business areas.
“This change is part of our preparation to be able to be traded at Nasdaq Stockholm, and to further provide the company with solid competence within both finance and investor relations and communications.”
Cherry’s listing on the Nasdaq Stockholm is taking a little longer than planned, having original announced its intention to complete the process by the end of Q1 2017.
The firm recently completed the acquisition of ComeOn and has since rebranded the enlarged online operation as ComeOn, with the land-based business remaining Cherry-branded.
