Chasing pack closes gap on bet365 at top of Oddschecker rankings
Rugby World Cup and first full month of football season allows operators to make up ground in September
Bet365 retained its place at the top of the Oddschecker monthly slip-click rankings in September but strong performances from its rivals in football and rugby closed the gap at the top.
The Stoke-headquartered firm’s overall share of 20.52% was enough to keep top spot but was down from August’s 21.18% share.
Second-placed Betfair also lost overall share, down to 14.26% from 16.42% in August, but the chasing pack made up ground, boosted by the first full month of the football season and the start of the Rugby World Cup.
BetVictor trailed only bet365 in football clicks, with its 14.62% share helping it to leapfrog Paddy Power into third place overall with 10.23% of clicks.
And despite dropping to fourth, Paddy Power still grew its overall share from 8.91% to 10.03%, as it took top spot in Rugby Union clicks with a 13.94% share.
Elsewhere William Hill (8.48%) was up to fifth overall after growing its horseracing clicks and Sky Bet took sixth place with a 7.70% share.
Coral (6.26%), Ladbrokes (5.53%) and Betfred (3.43%) took spots seven to nine while Betway (2.21%) completed the list with its first ever appearance in the top 10.
