Aces Royal owner Cecure Gaming has gone into administration and is seeking a buyer.
No-one from the mobile-phone poker and casino business was available to comment at the time of writing this afternoon. However Cecure Gaming is believed to have faced increased competition from rivals including mobile phone operator Probability, which in April announced it was on course to deliver a 60% increase in net gaming revenues for 2008-09.
Cecure gaming is headed by chief executive Matthew Welch, who joined in May 2007 as chief marketing officer, after having previously been head of marketing at Match.com, the world’s largest internet dating service.
The administration is being overseen by administrators Graham Bushby and Geoffrey Carlton-Kelly of Baker Tilly, and the sale process is being managed by Cavendish Financial.
