Casumo targets speed-to-market with front-end platform overhaul
Operator’s proprietary technology is being updated in pieces thanks to new component architecture
Casumo is in the process of overhauling its proprietary front-end technology to help speed up development of its products, EGR Intel has learned.
The process is being carried out in stages and has been facilitated by Casumo’s flexible technology.
Casumo co-founder and CEO Oscar Simmonson told EGR the operator has been using micro-service technology from the launch of the platform back in 2012 meaning it was able to update the stack piece by piece.
“That means we never had to scrap a whole monolith and start over,” Simmonson said. “Instead, we make constant, incremental improvements.
“The past couple of years, our development has been focused around the process of building a more jurisdiction-agnostic tech stack, which can help us to be quick in this fast evolving and regulating landscape
“We are not only doing this to update the product, but also to enable us to develop, ship and hence iterate faster.”

The platform update has stalled the release of Casumo’s Kambi-powered sportsbook, which was announced in March with an expected World Cup 2018 release date
On the set-back Simmonson said: “The reason we haven’t released it is because it hasn’t been good enough.
“With the good progress we have I’m really looking forward to seeing our sportsbook product roll out early next year,” he said.
