Camelot launches full play iOS app
Product now live after Apple relaxed ban on lottery products in App Store, with plans for similar Android app later this year
Camelot is now offering a full play in-app experience on iOS for the first time following the removal of a ban which had previously limited the lottery operator to a results-only service.
Apple maintained the lottery ban until last year, despite allowing conventional gambling apps in the App Store, and Camelot has now moved to extend its iOS offering as part of a broader extension of its mobile product suite.
A Camelot spokesperson told eGaming Review that while it is early days for the app, initial in-app payer numbers are positive and there are already plans for further updates.
âWe will be making lots of regular updates to the app â largely based on the useful feedback weâve had from our millions of users,â the spokesperson said.
âFor example, we will making it even easier for our retail customers to check results, as well as introducing more innovative ways to pay and play. Weâll also be making some enhancements to our GameStore experience within the app,â she added.
The app currently offers users the chance to play its draw-based games, and allows an already registered user to purchase a âLucky Dipâ ticket in fewer than 10 taps.
Camelot also confirmed plans for a full-play experience Android app later this year, although Google continues to prohibit any gambling apps from its Play store.
