Caesars takes top slot in SCi Power 25
Caesars Interactive Entertainment overtakes Zynga to be named top-ranking social casino operator in 2013's SCi Power 25
Caesars Interactive Entertainment (CIE) has toppled Zynga to be named the number one social casino operator in this year’s Social Casino Intelligence Power 25.
The Montreal-based operator topped the annual rankings of the social casino industry’s most powerful operators with the assessment panel praising the firm’s impressive revenues, broad product mix and strong position in mobile.
CIE has been on the acquisition trail in the past twelve months, bolting on last year’s fourth-ranked Buffalo Studios and acquiring the WSOP mobile app from Electronic Arts earlier this year.
And with revenues of $66.6m in Q1 2013, 49% of which came from mobile channels, CIE is now arguably the world’s largest social casino operator with a portfolio includes Slotomania, Bingo Blitz, Caesars Casino and the WSOP mobile app.
Last year’s number one ranked firm Zynga fell to number two after a transitional year with major changes to the company’s management structure including the appointment of a new CEO.
The third placed firm was IGT who has seen huge growth from its DoubleDown Casino app, which recently overtook Zynga Poker as the highest grossing app on Facebook.
The SCi panel noted the gap between the top three firms was very small and it would be no surprise to see IGT take the top spot in next year’s rankings.
The biggest climber in the rankings was Williams Interactive, which rose to fourth spot as a result of its Jackpot Party product became the fastest growing app in both DAU and MAU for the year ended June 2013.
