Caesars Entertainment secures DC United shirt-sleeve sponsorship
Las Vegas-based group becomes Washington club’s first-ever sleeve sponsor
Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise DC United has sealed an agreement with Caesars Entertainment for the casino brand to become the club’s first-ever shirt sleeve sponsor.
The partnership was revealed in New York, where MLS unveiled the new shirt designs for all 25 teams ahead of the 2020 season.
The arrangement could see Caesars open a bricks and mortar sportsbook at DC’s Audi Field home stadium, according to reports.
On Twitter and Facebook, the club posted an image of the shirt-sleeve branding and the caption: “Welcome to the family Caesars. You can bet this is going to be an exciting year for #DCU.”

MLS clubs are also believed to be seeking sponsorship from outside the US and Canada, in a move which could see international bookmakers and igaming firms tap into the growing US sports betting market.
US sports bettors staked $13bn in wagers throughout 2019, according to new figures from the American Gaming Association.
