Bwin signs Man Utd betting partnership
Operator replaces Betfair in deal which sees English football club join Real Madrid in its portfolio.
Bwin.party brand bwin has signed a deal to become the official betting and gaming partner of English Premier League football club Manchester United for an undisclosed amount.
The operator replaces Betfair, which had a similar agreement in place since 2009, with the club becoming the first partner to take advantage of Betfair’s App Cloud in April this year.
Odds for Manchester United games are now featured on the ‘betting and gaming section’ of the club’s homepage, which links through to bwin’s sports, poker, bingo and casino offerings.
The deal is the second tie-up between the 19-time league champions and a Power 50 operator, following a charitable partnership between the Hong Kong Jockey Club and the Manchester United Foundation signed last month.
Manchester United is one of three leading European clubs to have a partnership with bwin, with the company sponsoring the shirts of Spanish champions Real Madrid “ renewed in 2009 and set to run until the end of the forthcoming La Liga season “ and earlier this year launching a series of exclusive video content with players from German side and 2012 Champions League runners-up Bayern Munich.
Bwin also previously sponsored the shirts of Italian club AC Milan for four years before ending its deal in the summer of 2010.
