Bwin launches iPad poker app
Launch comes less than a week after the release of the iPad 3.
bwin has launched a real-money poker application for the iPad.
The app will offer Texas hold’em using the same mobile interface deployed in the operator’s iPhone and Android apps released last year. The launch comes less than a week after the release of the iPad 3, estimated to have already sold three million units worldwide in its first three days on the market.
Berthold Kao, team leader, product management at bwin.party, said the app gives bwin.com customers “unrestricted access to the bwin poker account “ now with the full iPad resolution of 1,024 by 768 pixels”.
Bwin was among the first operators to have a gambling app approved for sale in the iTunes App Store in November 2010, and was the first to launch any kind of real-money poker app for Apple devices (pictured) two months later.
It also launched a universal sports betting app for Android and Apple devices late last year, with the Apple version restricted to 18 countries while the Android equivalent was made available to all bwin.com customers.
On 15 March bwin.party launched a French-facing poker app for Android devices under its bwin.fr brand. The app offers real-money and play-money poker ring games, and means bwin.fr customers can now play poker on PCs, Macs and both Apple and Android smartphone devices.
