Buzz Bingo delves into online slots with new tournament format
UK-based bingo operator launches weekly online competition for slots fans
Buzz Bingo has unveiled a new vertical which allows customers to play slots titles competitively against friends and other online players.
Slots Tournaments will be available to play on Wednesdays, with new tournaments running every hour from 12pm to 12am.
Prizes range from cash to free spins, with the 7pm game acting as a ‘Power Hour’, when players have the opportunity to win a combined £500.
Players win a tournament based on how many in-game wins they accumulate, with the stake-per-spin having no impact on the amount of points an individual can earn.
There will also be a maximum number of spins a player can use to try and earn points with. If a Slots Tournament is a 100-spin competition, any wins after the 100th spin will not be added to a player’s points total.
The competition underwent a successful trial period with Buzz Bingo’s Diamond VIP players earlier this month.
Earlier this month, Buzz Bingo confirmed it would permanently close 26 retail sites as part of cost-saving measures to mitigate the financial impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
David Swaine, Buzz Bingo head of digital operations, said the launch of the Slots Tournament was in the pipeline “long before” the Covid-19 crisis and pointed towards future casino innovations for the operator in the future.
Swaine said: “The planning and development for our online Slots Tournaments began long before the Covid-19 pandemic. We’re in the process of reopening our clubs and safety has always been the number one priority.
“We are wholly committed to developing and improving all of the products on buzzbingo.com. Whether this is casino, bingo, or any of the other great products available on the website.
“We see Slots Tournaments fitting our members’ needs at this given moment and we will continue to release new and exciting ways to play at buzzbingo.com as and when we see suitable,” he concluded.
