Readers choose Jimmy Carr to host eGR operator awards
Comedian receives bulk of votes cast in reader poll, edging out Reginald D Hunter and Tim Vine.
Comedian and television host Jimmy Carr has been chosen by the readers of eGaming Review to host this year’s Operator Awards at The Roundhouse in Camden on November 26.
The 8 Out of 10 Cats presenter received the majority of the votes cast, comfortably ahead of American stand-up Reginald D Hunter and award-winning London comedian Tim Vine.
2012 Awards in detail
This year the industry’s leading real-money and social sports betting, casino, bingo, poker, financial and mobile operators will battle it out for one or more of eGR‘s 25 prestigious awards “ the climax of another year of innovation in the egaming industry.
Recognising the industry’s global expansion, channel diversification and convergence into social gaming, 2012 sees the introduction of five new awards categories including continental operator of the year; innovation in mobile; social bingo and casino product of the year; and social operator of the year.
Entering is straightforward with an easy-to-complete online form that can be found on our events page on the eGR website alongside the judging criteria and the list of judges who will shortlist and then make their final judgements after two days worth of deliberations and decisions.
Eight of the 25 categories including operator of the year; poker; bingo; casino and sports betting operator of the year; innovation in gaming; socially responsible operator of the year and rising star of the year will face a separate, secondary judging process with shortlisted entrants invited to a Pitch day where senior company representatives will be asked to present a five-minute pitch to a judging panel at Wentworth golf course on November 8. The pitch is your chance to impress and will provide shortlisted entrants the opportunity to give their side of their story and explain in their own words just why they should win an industry Oscar.
