BOYLESPORTS HAS hired Chartwell Games chief executive Lee Richardson as its own new chief executive.
As reported on EGRmagazine.com, previous Boyle Sports chief executive Daniel O’Mahoney left the Irish bookmaker in April “for personal reasons”.
Richardson joins Boylesports just a year after he was re-appointed as chief executive at Chartwell Games, Canadian gaming software provider Chartwell Technology’s European arm, on 13 January 2009, having in 2007 left the CEO post that he had held there since 2004 serving under Chartwell Technology chief operating officer (COO) Dave Acorn.
It is understood that his leaving in 2007 was because he was unwilling to relocate to Malta from the UK when the company took the decision to increase its European presence. Between leaving and re-joining Chartwell, Richardson is believed to have worked for Bodog Europe.
Prior to joining Chartwell, Richardson has held position including non-retail COO of Coral Eurobet, where he responsible for the development of the group’s egaming operation, interactive TV and telephone betting; managing director of Totalbet, the egaming division of the Tote; managing director of Tote Direct, the joint venture between the Tote, Ladbrokes and Coral; and marketing director of the British Horseracing Board.
In other recent executive moves, Ladbrokes chief executive Chris Bell announced that he is to leave this summer after almost 20 years at the British bookmaker.
