Betway continues UK push with talkSPORT sponsorship
Operator seals six-figure deal with sports radio station just days after signing a £15m sponsorship with West Ham United
Betway continues to splash the cash in its quest to gain UK market share with the announcement today of a “six-figure” sponsorship deal with sports radio station talkSPORT.
The agreement will see the Malta-licensed operator partner with the station’s Weekend Sports Breakfast Show on Saturday and Sunday mornings and will provide its latest betting odds to talkSPORT listeners.
“For a huge number of football supporters across the UK, talkSPORT is the first place they tune into every day for all the latest football news,” Alan Alger, Betway’s media relations manager, said.
“We are delighted to have teamed up with the station which will give us exposure to this huge pool of sports fans,” he added.
The talkSPORT partnership will run until June 2015 with an option to extend further and comes just days after the multi-vertical operator signed a £15m sponsorship deal with English Premier League football club West Ham United.
The three-and-a-half year deal has seen Betway become the east London club’s shirt sponsor and also gained naming rights to the West Stand of West Ham’s stadium, the Boleyn Ground.
The Microgaming-powered operator also recently signed a number of horseracing sponsorship deals, including the Queen Mother Champion Chase at next month’s Cheltenham Festival.
Last year Betway sponsored the Carl Froch v George Groves rematch at Wembley Stadium, which executive director Bob Dutnall said at the time was “the start of something big”.
