BG Marketing Services marketing MD departs after 20 years
Tim Whyles looks to launch esports-focused startup as he leaves online operator after two decades
MD of marketing operations at Betway subsidiary BG Marketing Services Tim Whyles has left after two decades with the firm.
Whyles was one of the earliest employees at the now global operator, having joined in 2002, and spent more than 18 years as a marketing director within the Betway Group at Win Technologies.
In January 2021, he became managing director of marketing via the firm’s BG Marketing Services division.
Reflecting on his departure, Whyles said: “It seems a long time ago since five of us sat in a small office in London Bridge with a collective ambition and a passion to build our little startup into something big.
“As it turns out, for me it’s been exactly 20 years and the scale of the Betway Group and wider Super Group businesses have surpassed even my wildest dreams.
“The most amazing thing about this business isn’t really its scale and magnitude though, it’s that the passion and ambition to always do better is still just as vibrant and strong as it was all those years ago,” he added.
Whyles noted he was “incredibly proud” of his and his team’s achievements during his two decades with the firm, and revealed his plans to launch a new business in the coming weeks.
“As for my next plans, I’m going back into startup mode and will shortly be launching an esports-focused media business,” he said.
