Betway boosts safer gambling activity with West Ham United
Hammers players display Safer Gambling Week 2020 branding on training tops in operator-led initiative
Betway utilised its partnership with West Ham United to raise awareness and drive conversation during Safer Gambling Week 2020.
Safer Gambling Week aims to generate healthy dialogue between customers, staff and the wider public about safer gambling practices and sources of support and advice for at-risk players.
As principal sponsors of West Ham, Betway worked with the team to ensure the players wore Safer Gambling Week branding during their pre-match warm-up at Sheffield United last weekend.
Betway also incorporated Safer Gambling Week messaging onto the Premier League club’s official website and app to further drive key messaging to consumers.
The operator also expanded the initiative into horseracing by renaming nine sponsored races to ‘Betway supporting Safer Gambling Week’ during the period.
Betway CEO Anthony Werkman said: “Safety when gambling is paramount all year round, we are committed to ensuring the industry, and the consumers are at the heart of the conversation.
“As an annual contributor we have been delighted to support the Safer Gambling Week campaign over the last few days,” he added.
Elsewhere, Betway head of corporate comms and PR Alan Alger featured in a dedicated video podcast with the Football Ramble to bring attention to Safer Gambling Week.
