BetVictor makes Euro 2016 play with ?1m giveaway
Operator launches 'The Million Pound Goal' promotion designed to boost acquisition and retention during this summer's finals
BetVictor is to give away ?1m as part of an “ambitious and truly stand-out” Euro 2016 promotion it believes will set it apart from rivals in the battle for market share this summer.
‘The Million Pound Goal’ competition will see the winner receive the seven-figure sum for correctly predicting, or getting closest to predicting, the first goal scorer and time of first goal in the Euro 2016 final. More than one correct prediction will see the prize shared.
In a bid to acquire and retain customers in the lead-up to and during the tournament, punters will earn a prediction upon placing a qualifying bet of at least ?5 and for each five qualifying bets thereafter.
And in a nod to cross-sell, customers can also earn additional predictions by playing The Million Pound Goal slot and virtual sports products.
The promotion, which was devised by creative agency Mr President, will be backed by a major TV advertising campaign with the first ad set to be aired this evening.
The marketing effort will also involve a push across out-of-home, print, radio and digital platforms and feature animations of Richard Swarbrick and the voice of commentator Barry Davies.
“Our message for the Euros is simple and relevant; we will continue to offer the football bettor the best value but are also going to give away ?1m on the final of Euro 2016,” Matt Scarrott, BetVictor director of sportsbook, said.
“It doesn’t matter if the first goal is a fluke in extra-time, an own goal in the opening minute, a penalty in a shoot-out after a 0-0 draw or a 30-yard volley; a goal is a goal however it is scored and the opening goal in the final on 10 July could win one lucky BetVictor customer ?1m,” he added.
Customers will be able to make their The Million Pound Goal predictions any time after the conclusion of the second semi-final on the 7 July up until the final kicks off on 10 July.
