BetVictor acquires trading solutions business
London-based Botsphere was founded by Oddschecker creators, and provides trading solutions to operators including Betfair and Betfred.
Gibraltar-licensed operator BetVictor has acquired London-based trading solutions company Botsphere for an undisclosed amount.
The business, which currently provides trading solutions for BetVictor as well as other operators such as Betfair, which last week attracted attention after eGaming Review revealed it had closed down the accounts of traders tied to rival operators following investigations into high data usage.
It also provides solutions for Betfred and Boylesports, and was set up in 2006 by Oddschecker founders Stewart Vassie and Julian Leach.
Vassie expressed his excitement at integrating Botsphere into BetVictor, saying: “Having worked with their management and technology teams over a number of years we recognised that we shared the same business ethos and technology ambition, which is why we fully supported the sale of the business to BetVictor.”
BetVictor has described the deal as “Strategically significant” for the Power 50 operator, which anticipates being able to “Deliver complete automated trading solutions across a number of mainstream sports over the next two years.”
Chairman Victor Chandler said: “In recognising that to remain a world class, innovative gaming company we needed to be in control of our future technical development, strategically this acquisition was therefore the perfect solution.”
The acquisition of Botsphere is the latest expansion from the operator since it rebranded to BetVictor in January this year, with other recent developments including an expansion of its mobile offering with the addition of content from Realistic Games in April.
