BetVictor removes overnight Best Odds Guaranteed
Operator moves in line with William Hill and Paddy Power in offering BOG from the day of the race
BetVictor has become the latest firm to adjust its Best Odds Guaranteed offer, now offering its form 9am on the day of the race rather than overnight.
The Gibraltar-headquartered operator follows the likes of Paddy Power Betfair and William Hill, who have both removed overnight BOG amid rising costs.
William Hill last week moved its own BOG to start at 10am on the day of the race.
BetVictor did not respond to an EGR request for comment on the reasons behind the change, but the operator has previously had issues with racing concessions, removing Lucky bets for around 24 hours over margin concerns, before ultimately reinstating them without concessions.
Hi Justin, yes that is correct.

The gradual rollback of BOG has come with the costs of racing streaming and data set to rise, as racetracks ask for fees based on turnover rather than fixed costs.
Betfred last week became the first firm to sign up for the turnover driven model for At The Races streams.
One UK racing exec told EGR recently: “It’s a very messy situation right now but if the costs of offering racing keep going up, then it has to impact on the pricing and concession model.”
When asked whether that bookie would drop BOG if they could be assured the rest of the industry would, the exec said: “I think probably everyone would.”
He added: “If the product starts becoming uncompetitive because you did have to remove BOG and bet to higher margins, then it will be counterproductive for the people demanding these increases.”
