BetVictor sets out voice recognition plans
Operator believes the technology will “add value” to the industry and has begun creating framework to “move quickly” into voice market
BetVictor has begun creating a framework to enable the firm to introduce voice recognition technology to its mobile offering, a move it says will “transform” the customer experience, EGR Intel has learned.
Speaking to EGR Intel, BetVictor’s chief technology officer, Jonathan De La Rosa, said the firm is creating a framework around Micro Services and API’s to enable the operator to “move quickly” into the voice recognition market.
“Voice recognition is something that we believe will really add value to the egaming industry,” De La Rosa said.
“2017 will see voice enabled platforms transform the customer experience and result in a much more actively engaged customer than we currently see,” he added.
De La Rosa pointed to the growing use of screen-less user interfaces, such as Amazon Alexa, and said the operator was ready to embrace new UI platforms to distribute its services.
“As voice recognition becomes more widely adopted in the consumer technology space, we will continue to provide players with the best gaming experience across all platforms and devices,” De La Rosa said.
This year saw several operators experiment with voice technology, with Unibet one of the first to integrate a voice activated bet feature to its mobile app.
Greek operator Stoiximan launched its new iOS mobile app with voice-activated betting, while Betfred incorporated the technology for its app ahead of Euro 2016.
