Betsson Denmark MD departs
Managing director of the firm's Danish operation to leave before the end of the year
Managing director of Betsson AB’s Danish business Peter Weinreich will leave the company in the coming weeks, eGaming Review has learned.
Weinreich, who will leave before Christmas once the handover to his successor is complete, is to take up a chief marketing officer role outside of the online gambling industry.
He has managed Betsson’s Denmark-facing brands including NordicBet.dk and BetSafe.dk for nearly two years having joined the operator in December 2013.
In addition to leaving Betsson, earlier this week Weinreich also stepped down from his role as chairman of the Danish Online Gambling Association and has since been replaced by vice-chairman Henrik Svensson of Unibet.
“I have been working in egaming for 12 years and feel now is the right time to take on a new challenge,” Weinreich told eGR.
“Working with Betsson has been a pleasure and the group has taken giant leaps during the two years I’ve been in the company – not only on the share price but also in terms of capabilities and I have no doubt they are part of the winner’s circle in the industry,” he added.
Betsson is currently hiring for Weinreich’s replacement who will likely be based out of the operator’s Malta office.
