Betsson strengthens senior trading team with Coral hire
Richard Scott appointed head of global trading to help drive performance of Betsson Group’s sportsbook brands
Betsson Group has bolstered its sportsbook management team after appointing former Coral Interactive senior trader Richard Scott as head of global trading, EGR Intel has learned.
Scott, who joined Coral from William Hill in 2012, is due to begin new role at Betsson’s Malta base at the end of the month where he will report into former Coral colleague Nick Maurice.
Maurice, who joined Betsson as trading director last May having previously held the same role at Coral, said the hire of Scott formed part of the Group’s investment into the vertical.
“We have invested a lot in product development in our sportsbook during 2016 and we are also making sure to invest in the right people,” Maurice told EGR Intel.
“Richard Scott will join Betsson as head of global trading and will play a key role in driving the performance of Betsson’s sportsbook – we are delighted to have him on board,” he added.
Part of Betsson’s investment into sportsbook has included the recent €40m acquisition of horseracing specialist RaceBets, while the firm has also rolled out a new front-end platform.
