Betsson pivots to post-Covid hybrid working model
Pilot will come into force from Q3 while staff will also be given option to work remotely from abroad for two weeks each year
Betsson Group will move to a hybrid working model once it has been deemed safe for employees to return to full-time work from the office post-Covid-19. The Malta-headquartered operator has decided on a pilot that will see two mandatory days in the office, while the other three days can be worked remotely from home. The new standards are expected to come into force in Q3 once more people have been vaccinated and office locations have been classed as safe to reopen. Betsson Group chief HR officer Lena Nordin said: “We believe that the combination of both worlds is the best option. “Besides this great perk of working up to three days a week from home, most Betssonites will also get a further two weeks a year when they can work remotely from abroad.” Betsson’s 1,800 global employees have been working from home since March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and in accordance with guidance from local health authorities.
The operator has developed two e-learning programmes about remote working for staff and management, while workers were able to take part in digital classes on yoga, meditation and fitness. Betsson conducted three staff surveys during lockdown to ascertain how employees felt about remote working for a prolonged period of time. Around 80% of staff considered it “easy” or “very easy” to work from home.
