Betsson names new chief financial officer
New CFO has “extensive experience of M&A” according to the Stockholm-listed operator
Betsson has appointed Martin Öhman as its new chief financial officer (CFO), with the exec joining from Swedish car retailer Upplands Motor.
Ohman takes up the role on 1 September 2019, and has “extensive experience of M&A,” according to a Betsson press release.
Martin is currently CFO at Upplands Motor, which has a turnover of approximately SEK 6bn (£500m), and was previously CFO at medical technologies companies Handicare Group and Bactiguard.
“Martin’s extensive experience in senior positions in finance, along with his experience with M&A, will be a great asset to Betsson,” says Pontus Lindwall, CEO and CEO of Betsson AB.
The recently re-regulated Swedish market is seen as ripe for M&A, with more than 116 firms having been licensed already.
Betsson’s current CFO Kaaren Hilsen announced plans to depart the business in September last year after less than a year in the role.
She remained at the firm for six months to help find her replacement.
