Betsson mobile progress âsignificantâ, says Silfverberg
Chief executive hails progress made on the channel as mobile revenue share up six percentage points sequentially
Betsson chief executive Magnus Silfverberg hailed the progress his firm has made on mobile as âsignificantâ after the share of revenues derived from the channel increased to 23% in Q3.
Late last week Betsson reported mobile revenues had increased by 36% sequentially to SEK176.4m and Silfverberg said the firmâs âfantastic mobile deliveryâ in the three months ended 30 September had seen mobileâs share of revenues rise six percentage points sequentially.
Central to the mobile performance was its sportsbook product with around 40% of all sportsbook revenues coming through mobile in Q3, nearly double what the company had achieved earlier this year.
âSportsbook turnover was 40% and bear in mind we have only recently launched our brands on a strong mobile offering â growing from 30% in Q2 and 21% in Q1 â so these are significant steps forward,â Silfverberg added.
Betssonâs mobile penetration had been sluggish compared to other firms but has accelerated in recent months with the launch of a number of apps and upgrades made to its flagship sports betting and casino app.
Earlier this year Betsson said it was to target further growth of its mobile channel after deriving approximately half of its sportsbook revenue during the World Cup from mobile devices.
