Betsson marketing exec joins Betpoint Group
DJ Ruby manager Mattia Busuttil makes the short switch across Malta to lead Betpoint’s rest of world operating division
Betpoint Group has recruited Betsson marketing executive Mattia Busuttil as its new head of rest of world (ROW). Busuttil joined Betsson back in 2017 as a social media manager, earning four promotions over nearly four years to eventually become head of marketing for emerging markets in November 2019. He joined fellow Malta-based operator Betpoint Group earlier this month. In his new role, he will be responsible for budget management and strategy in the ROW segment, including new market growth forecasting, media buying and partner management, as well as ensuring compliance with local regulations and generating new customers. Busuttil took to LinkedIn to heap praise on his former employer. He said: “During this time I’ve had an opportunity to reflect and process my time at Betsson. “As a result, all I can say is great things. Betsson Group is a fantastic place to work, it’s more than just a building – it’s a place to learn, to grow and most of all a family. “During my time I’ve met some incredible people who will definitely be in my life moving forward and for me this is a sign of a thriving and exciting workplace,” he added. Busuttil will now link up with Betpoint Group CEO Lahcene Merzoug, who spoke to EGR about the operator’s long-term growth strategy in June. Outside of the online gambling industry, Busuttil also manages DJ Ruby, who is widely considered to be Malta’s leading pioneer of electronic dance music.
