Betsson eyes new gaming licences with data security certificate
Malta-based operator awarded data protection certificate for its new security management system
Betsson has earned the international standard certificate for implementing an Information Security Management System to protect player data.
The Malta-headquartered operator said the ISO 27001:2013 certification is “highly regarded by regulators” and will help Betsson when applying for licences in new markets.
Betsson CEO Jesper Svensson said: “This accreditation affirms our ongoing vigilance for protecting our customers’ and clients’ data and that all our processes across the organisation meet or exceed the ISO standards.
“I am proud of the many talented people at Betsson Group, who work around the clock in providing a secure and reliable service to our customers, for achieving this recognition,” he added.
The accreditation was awarded following an audit of every level of the business by independent international testing agency ACM – a UKAS-accredited certification body in the UK.
An external audit will be performed annually to monitor Betsson’s continued compliance.
Betsson Group CEO Pontus Lindwall spoke about compliance requirements in Sweden and the Netherlands with EGR Intel in July.
