Betsson completes hunt for new CFO
Operator hires Kaaren Hilson from Swedish telecoms firm Telenor to replace Fredrik Rüdén
Betsson has hired Kaaren Hilsen from global telecoms company Telenor as its new chief financial officer (CFO), the operator announced today.
Hilsen will take over from current CFO Fredrik Rüdén by 1 November at the latest, following nearly seven years in senior executive roles at Telenor Sweden.
She was most recently CFO of the telecommunications supplier but also previously served as CFO and CEO of Telenor’s Montenegro businesses.
Betsson CEO Ulrik Bengtsson said Nilson’s international experience in regulated markets and broad financial and management expertise would be great assets for the operator.
He added: “Our revenue mix is increasingly balanced, shifting from primarily Nordic to a pan-European/Central Asian business with a broad mix of markets.”
Current CFO Rüdén, who also joined Betsson with a background in telecommunications, announced his departure last month and will leave in August after nearly nine years at the firm.
The Stockholm-listed operator completed its acquisition of UK firm NetPlay in March to broaden its presence in the UK.
