Betsson brand launches in Brazil as Suaposta integration completes
Stockholm-listed operator adds finishing touches to Latam horseracing firm as fixed odds sports betting goes live
Brazil-based Suaposta will now be known as Betsson after the Malta-based operator completed its integration of the Latam-facing horseracing specialist. Betsson finished the third and final phase of the rebranding project this month, after plenty of heavy lifting in cooperation with localised partner, the Jockey Club of Rio Grande do Sul. Brazilian consumers can now play on Betsson’s proprietary technical platform, which offers a more modern experience, supported by a local customer service team. The betting system has been upgraded to include fixed odds wagering, while an additional 22 countries with regular race action have been added to the platform. An accumulator betting function has also been integrated, as the number of available races per year has been increased to 220,000 from 90,000. In addition, punters will be able to follow daily jackpots with millionaire prizes at the largest racetracks in the world. A statistics function has also been embedded to provide information on form, while digital users can switch on live notifications during race events. Suaposta founder André Gelfi – now MD of Betsson in Brazil – said: “We are very excited to present our new platform to the market and to our customers, positioning the Betsson brand in Brazil. “We have communicated all phases of this re-branding, with total transparency, to make sure the transition was smooth and giving the community the opportunity to become familiar with Betsson. “In this special moment, we would like to express our gratitude to our partners at the Jockey Club of Rio Grande do Sul, who believed in our vision and supported us to make this project happen in record time,” he added. Betsson acquired a 75% stake in Suaposta back in December 2019.
