BetHard names former PokerStars manager as CEO
Michael Holmberg to take the helm at online casino and sportsbook operator BetHard
Former Rational Group general manager Michael Holmberg has been named as the new chief exec of online casino and sports betting operator BetHard.
Holmberg (pictured) has held a number of senior roles at PokerStars and parent company Rational Group and will join the firm on 1 February 2016.
BetHard founder Erik Skarp said the appointment of Holmberg was a “key recruitment” for the firm, which operates sites such as BetHard.com, SverigeCasino.com, and NorgeVegas.com.
“Michael will add tremendous experience to what is today a fast-growing entrepreneurially-driven group of companies with very high ambitions,” he added.
Holmberg has spent 16 years in online gaming, most recently as general manager for the PokerStars and Full Tilt European operations in Malta.
He has also severed as PokerStars’ director of live events Europe and regional director for the Nordics and Baltics.
“The gaming industry is still relatively young and there is plenty of potential for successful companies with the right drive and DNA,” Holmberg said.
“I know BetHard Group is one of them and expect BetHard to continue moving towards a market leader within our segments,” he added.
