Betfair launches first cash out roulette
New format from supplier Be The House expected to enhance cross-sell opportunities and boost session time
Betfair has launched a new version of roulette that allows punters to create side markets over a set number of spins and then cash these bets out when they choose.
The product means a player could, for example, bet on 10 reds to come up in the next 15 spins and then cash out for a profit if five came up in the first five spins.
The feature can be used as a side bet with players still spinning the wheel and betting normally, or it can be the main focus of the game.
It comes from London-based studio Be The House, which said the game attracts punters through higher pay-outs and greater control over volatility, while operators benefit from longer player sessions and the ability to cross-sell sports bettors.
“I don’t come from a gaming background, but when I was researching the industry for my latest book it didn’t make sense that roulette is essentially over after each spin,” Seth Freedman, CEO and co-founder of Be The House, said.
“The beauty of Cash Out Roulette is that it doesn’t cannibalise those players who love traditional roulette, it simply offers an exciting new alternative.
“We’re delighted to have Betfair on board and the reaction from those that have seen it within the industry has been amazing.”
Freedman said Betfair was the first operator to go live with Cash Out Roulette but the provider was working with several other tier one operators to launch the game in the coming months.
Be The House also holds a pending patent for accumulative casino on all table games and said it will be rolling out other products in the near future.
