Betfair appoints third CTO in five years
Paul Cutter joins from BskyB to succeed the outgoing Phil Dixon
Betfair has appointed BskyB’s former director of software engineering Paul Cutter as its new chief technology officer, the third person to take on the role in last five years.
Cutter, who has also held senior tech roles at AOL Europe, assumes responsibility for Betfair’s technology teams based in London, Portugal and Romania and its ongoing product initiatives.
He takes over from Phil Dixon who has returned to his native California after 12 months as CTO.
Dixon moved into the role in January 2013 after a spell as Tony McAlister’s number two.
McAlister served as CTO from 2009 to 2013 and oversaw the restructure if the technology department prior to his departure.
Earlier this month Betfair announced the appointment of Leo Quinn, CEO of defence technology firm QinetiQ, to its board of directors following the departure of Fluttr founder Joshua Hannah.
