Betdaq makes 0% commission pledge
Zero commission rate will apply to all sports except football, horseracing, greyhounds and cricket
GVC-owned exchange operator Betdaq has confirmed a switch to 0% commission across a range of sports to increase liquidity.
Football, horseracing, greyhound racing and cricket will be exempt from the new 0% commission rate and remain at 2%.
Betdaq launched the change permanently after a successful trial period of 0% commission on the last three tennis Grand Slams of 2019.

Betdaq MD Shane McLaughlin
Betdaq MD Shane McLaughlin told EGR Intel: “Zero commission means a better price for customers, often the best available in the market, which will bring liquidity into the exchange.
“We’ve run a number of trials with tennis in particular during the year that proved the model works for us and we’re now rolling it out on all but four sports.
“We’ve invested heavily in recent years to ensure there is better liquidity in these traditionally smaller exchange sports markets and this move is designed to attract more consumers into these markets through the better price and liquidity available,” he added.
Betdaq launched a fixed-odds sportsbook to complement its exchange platform in August 2019.
Rival exchange operator Matchbook moved to a 2% commission model in August of this year, while Smarkets has previously used zero commission for recreational punters.
