Betdaq goes commission-free for Cheltenham Festival
Entain-owned exchange operator to offer 0% commission on all sports for four days
Betdaq will not take commission on sports bets during all four days of the 2021 Cheltenham Festival in March. The operator plans to boost acquisition rates for the big event by offering 0% commission on all 28 races, with T20 international cricket and Champions League football also happening that week. The offer applies to both new and existing customers. Betdaq head of marketing Mark Harkin said: “We are always looking at how we can best serve our customers and this offer is part of our drive to do that. “We’ve made the decision to go commission-free on all sports throughout Cheltenham Festival, which is one of the busiest weeks of the year. “It’s very exciting for us as races come thick and fast at Cheltenham and there’s plenty of top-class sporting action going on elsewhere to trade on,” he added. Entain’s Other segment, which includes the Betdaq brand, reported a 42% year-on-year drop in revenue to £27.8m for 2020 due to Covid-19. Cheltenham Festival begins on Tuesday 16 March.
