Bet Tracker appoints Cook to lead European charge
Steve Cook, gaming veteran of 18 years, appointed European managing director of Bet Tracker as the firm looks to sign up major sportsbooks ahead of ICE.
Steve Cook, former director of sales and marketing at NYX Interactive, has joined Bet Tracker as European managing director heading up the sales management and operations in the UK.
Cook told eGaming Review that the company, that has been in operation for two years tying up deals with US sportsbooks including Costa-Rica-based JustBet, is now focused on expanding into European regulated markets and that it is in advanced talks with a number of large European-based sportsbooks to take its products. “We’ve set up a European base here now and we’ve had so much positive feedback from European sportsbooks that we’re looking to announce several deals at ICE at the end of this month.
Cook has been in gaming for the past 18 years, previously working for Sega, Tribeca Tables and NYX for the last two years. “I have a lot of experience in gaming and have worked across casino, bingo and poker but this is the first time I have moved into sports betting. I have, however been dealing with sportsbooks for years. We’re looking to tie up a number of deals and see them rolled out in February,” Cook said.
Bet Tracker is a sports betting management service that allows players to monitor and track the performance of their bets, view published betting lines, calculate win-loss bet probabilities during the game, view game stats and get final scores in real-time using an iPhone or Blackberry application, any mobile device, or a PC.
“When a sportsbook signs up to using Bet Tracker punters download the application on their phones, input the product code and this links all their bets across as many platforms as they want. However, it also a great retention tool and a sportsbook can restrict its use to just their platform and their bets should they wish,” Cook added.
Kevin Torf, chief executive of Bet Tracker said, “We are delighted to welcome Steve onboard with us. He has demonstrated in the past with his track record and industry standing that he is the right man for Bettracker. He will play a key role in our senior management structure for making Bet Tracker a success in Europe”.
