Bet365 Oddschecker lead cut
Second-placed Betfair moves within one percentage point of the Stoke-based operator.
After opening up a gap of four percentage points over second-placed Betfair in August’s Oddschecker Top 10, Bet365 has seen the gap cut to less than 1% in October’s rankings.
The Stoke-based operator, that has lead the chart since March 2010, recorded 18.5% of online market clicks over the course of the month, its lowest total throughout 2011 and only just ahead of Betfair’s 17.58%.
Meanwhile Ladbrokes, after returning to the odds comparison site in mid-September and recording a 3.7% share of market clicks over the course of last month, climbed two places to eighth in October after increasing its share to 5%.
Elsewhere on the list, Boylesports climbed into the top five for the first time, with its performances in the golf and entertainment markets helping elevate it above Stan James.
That Bet365 continue to lead the way is largely down to horse racing markets, where a 22% market share was the highest among all bookmakers tracked by Oddschecker, and an identical share was obtained by Betfair in the entertainment market after the start of the live broadcasts on reality show The X Factor.
