Bet365 appoints Graham Wood to international development role
Veteran of European egaming markets will primarily work on operator's Italy-facing business
Bet365 has appointed egaming veteran Graham Wood as its new international development officer, eGaming Review has learned.
Wood, whose initial remit will focus on bet365’s burgeoning Italy-facing business, began his role earlier this month and will report into the firm’s international development manager, Jon Moss.
Wood brings a wealth of experience of European egaming markets having served as Victor Chandler’s regional director for southern Europe, international development manager at Ladbrokes and head of betting at Italian firm Snai earlier in his career.
Prior to joining bet365 on a permanent basis Wood had been assisting the Stoke-based firm in Italy on a consultancy basis.
He had been an independent consultant since 2007 with other clients including William Hill, Stanleybet and Playbet in Greece.
Bet365 gained an Italian licence in September 2014 and immediately became the market leader in online sports betting.
Its entry into the licensed sector has boosted the Italian online sportsbook market, with sports betting turnover more than doubling year-on-year in May from 105.5m to 239.1m.
