AsianLogic promotes Karatzas to chief exec role
Former Ladbrokes man steps up from Dafabet director role to replace current CEO John Borzi
AsianLogic has appointed Dimitris Karatzas as its new chief executive officer following the recent departure of John Borzi, EGR Intel has learned.
It is understood Karatzas, who has been with the group since 2008, more recently as online betting and gaming director of AsianLogic sportsbook brand Dafabet, replaced Borzi at the turn of the year.
The new CEO had previously worked for Ladbrokes as business development manager for four years until 2006, and also held the position of marketing director at Expekt.com.
During Karatzas’ tenure as online betting and gaming director, Dafabet secured major sporting sponsorship deals in the UK, including its partnerships with Burnley, Celtic and Sunderland, agreements aimed at increasing brand visibility back in its core Asia market.
The departure of Borzi comes after three-and-a-half years at the helm.
