Aristocrat launches latest social mobile slot
Wild Panda becomes the 14th machine-based slot to be redeveloped for iPhone and iPad devices.
Aristocrat Technologies has announced the release of Wild Panda, the supplier’s latest slot game to be adapted for the iOS platform.
Wild Panda is a free-play slot available on Apple’s App Store, and retains the features of the company’s machine-based, 5-reel version. It is the fourteenth of Aristocrat’s slots to be redeveloped for mobile, and allows players to connect to the Apple Game Centre network to view player leaderboards, compare scores with other players, and post their wins on Facebook and Twitter.
The company’s All Stars slot is featured in AppData’s top paid iOS games rankings, while the fourteen games have been downloaded over 350,000 times so far. Tiki Torch, Aristocrat’s thirteenth iOS release, was rolled out late last month.
The release follows the announcement of a strategic agreement with Bally Technologies last month, which will see the two software suppliers combine poker liquidity and share online slot content. Under the terms of the agreement the companies will work together to partner with third-party poker providers, and integrate the same system onto their egaming platforms, and will offer slot games on a free-to-play basis, eventually moving to real-money once regulation is introduced.
Aristocrat posted a 14% year-on-year drop in profits for the twelve months ending 31 December 2011 in March, after an increase in costs cancelled out a 5% increase in revenues over the period.
